An article has been added to describe the long awaited new Advanced Fan Control method. I have a 27' iMac with 3.06ghz processor 1tb hdd and 4gb of ram purchased around march and I am having a weird problem with the hard drive fan. Before I came across this thread I also tried HDD. SSD Fan Control allows you to manually set the speed of the hard drive fan.
If that's the case, no fan control software will help, anyway.
